Workforce Tools for Talent: Cybersecurity & Digital Skills Training

About the Session

Cybersecurity

Kansas has over 7,000 open positions in cybersecurity with cybersecurity professionals earning an average salary of $100,000 and a growing threat environment, EnterpriseKC, through a grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce, is focused on building up Kansas as a cybersecurity center of excellence. Talent is the focus of our efforts. EnterpriseKC is building tools focused on cybersecurity talent assessment, a talent exchange, and a robust training platform through a newly developed cyber range. Other efforts include increasing the number of people interested in cybersecurity through engagement initiatives. Through industry partnerships, academic alignment, and ecosystem development, all industries in Kansas will benefit from the development of a cybersecurity center of excellence.

Digital Skills Training

More than 30 million Americans struggle to use a computer, and half of all Americans say they are not confident in using technology to learn. Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas is working to change that for Kansans by expanding access to digital skills, creating equitable pathways into high-quality tech careers and fostering inclusivity. WA is one of only five organizations nationwide selected for the prestigious Public Sector Digital Jobs Innovation Project by Jobs for the Future (JFF). This initiative, also supported by Google.org and IBM, helps individuals reskill and thrive in the tech industry through hands-on, practical, and rigorous digital training programs.
